From this moment on, I am making it my goal to be steadfast. I am fixing myself in one direction, keeping my gaze on one goal, and standing firm in my ultimate purpose.
My ultimate purpose is to establish for myself good health. Thanks to my longterm battle with dysautonomia, in addition to speculation of an autoimmune disorder, I have been left unable to experience life the way I so desire. The daily tasks which many complete without a second thought are incredibly strenuous on my body and leave me exhausted. Commitments such as school, work, and maintaining friendships have become nearly impossible, and as a girl in her 20s, this leaves me feeling helpless and discouraged. More than anything, I desire to live out the plan God set out for me and to follow His leading in my life. The desires which God has placed on my heart are the driving force behind this journey to restoring my health. I see so much potential ahead of me, and I will do whatever it takes to unleash it.
Just to give you a little more background on my struggle, what I suffer from is coined an "invisible illness." It's symptoms are completely internal, and therefore, from the exterior no one would ever guess that I am anything less than healthy. For so long, this was my saving grace for it allowed me to live behind a mask of good health and happiness. I never spoke of my illness, and I stopped allowing myself to recognize it's hold on me as well. When I got sick, I'd blame it on whatever unrelated circumstance I could... I told myself that the symptoms I felt weren't real and that if I ignored them they would go away. All the while, I was taking up a lifestyle which was less than helpful, and in fact, very detrimental to my health. I just wanted to be like everyone else. However, after having no choice but to drop out of school, and after having quit every job I'd ever held, I realized I needed to take off the mask and expose who I truly am.
That's what this blog is... a diary of my progress and setbacks, a source of accountability to keep me fighting, a compilation of tips and strategies for others struggling, and a source of hope for myself that I can get my life back and start pursuing my desires.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
